TEEEEXAS

So Joey and I just returned from Texas. If you have never been, you MUST go. I've always thought that I will move down when I get older... but lately that time may be sooner than later. We'll see. Anyhooo, here's what happened.

Day 1- Flying, BBQ, Willie Nelson and drunks.

Fun fun plane ride. Joey LOVES traveling- be it bus, train, car, or plane. So flying was exciting for him. Many of your know I'm generally drugged and asleep. A poor traveler. First stop off the plane... Texas Land and Cattle.

Then we went directly to Willie Nelson's concert/birthday party. Ray Price and Merle Haggard were also present. It was incredible. They also gave out free US bandannas and DIP! (We couldn't bring cameras in so photos are lacking here)

We drank lots and made lots of friends and THIS guy fell in love with my HOT mom. Whataburger dinner then back to the ranch.

Day 2- Tour of the ranch, Devil's Backbone, Market Days, Jacob's Well, and then the Rodeo.

Our ancestor's built this cabin when they first settled in Texas and we have moved it to various locations across the ranch and have place it back to where it allll started. We have tons of their old stuff and its so cool to see.

Devil's Backbone is so beautiful and has a BAD ASS biker bar right there too. We used to be a dry county and its a gorgeous place, but mostly everyone likes the bar. My sister and I have made it a family tradition to go to this area on Christmas Eve every year.

Jacob's Well is the coldest water ever, but they cleaned it up and its so pretty. I of course get totally scared there because of old stories. Its a relaxing and pretty area and fun to swim in, but divers used to explore the well and it has all these caverns inside of it and they would get trapped or lose their way and every few years they would have to take the bodies out of the divers who did not survive. HOWEVER... everyone else just goes swimming at the top like a good old fashioned swimming hole!

That night we had the rodeo, which was Joey's FIRST rodeo ever. AMAZING. Sadly one cowboy left injured, as did the clown :( Bulls are no joke kids. Also FRITO PIE doesn't mess around either.

Day 3- Saaaan Antonio. Alamo, River Walk, and then floatin down the Guadalupe River.

Alamo is great. It's hot.

River Walk also nice, too touristy for me though, but a happy Joey is worth it.

The river is sooo great. One of the best selling points of moving back home. I should have bought a water camera to capture those moments. Best time to catch up with family and all the cousins, while floating and drinking a beer.

We followed the day up with Whataburger yet again.

Day 4- Family, shopping, and BBQ.

Various visiting on the ranch and catching up with people. I hope to become just like Lila one day. An amazing woman.

Cousin Jeanettte's son Corbin is clearly the cutest. Joey slept until like 2 or something so time flew by.

I bought lots of shoes at Tami's store and then SALT LICK was the highlight of this day. I brought home more delicious sauce.

Day 5- We woke up at 3:30am for our flight out of San Antonio and the airport did not have power when we arrived... Eventually we did get home and recovered with the new Aerosmith version of guitar hero (which we do like, and have discovered that we really only like 3 Aerosmith songs)
